Advocate for fair and equal treatment of Pacific communities

Help end discrimination in New Zealand’s immigration policies

Strengthen family, cultural, and neighbourly ties
Support Arthur Anae’s official petition calling for fair and equal treatment for Pacific people wishing to visit New Zealand.

Petition Request:
That the House of Representatives review the present requirements for Pacific people to enter NZ on a visitor visa, and allow Pacific people to be treated in the same way as people from the 60 plus other countries who are eligible for NZeTAs.
Petition Reason:
Pacific people are New Zealand’s neighbors. We share close ties and have stood together in wars. Since the 1940s, Pacific communities have come to New Zealand and helped build the nation. However, the 1970s Dawn Raids targeted Pacific people, and research later showed they were a minority of overstayers but the majority of prosecutions. This ongoing discrimination towards Pacific people must end.
This petition proposes that Pacific people from Fiji, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu be issued a visitor visa on arrival in New Zealand—just as citizens from over 60 other countries are eligible for NZeTAs.
